People facing criminal charges need more than just a person to appear for them in court and take whatever the prosecutor gives them as a plea deal. They need an attorney not only with skill and experience, but the tenacity to fight for justice and their rights. The life altering consequences of a conviction demand it.
My name is Rose Feller and Feller Law, P.A. is a practice based upon those ideals. My mission is to work under the presumption of innocence, to aggressively protect your rights, and to facilitate a just resolution to your legal situation.
A native Floridian, I have spent the past 15 years of my life dedicated to defending people who face the uncertainty and fear that criminal charges bring. From misdemeanors to felonies that carry a life sentence, I’ve worked every type of case. My extensive experience includes defending those accused of sex crimes, attempted murder, armed robbery, white collar crime… down to Driving while License Suspended and simple battery.
I graduated from St. Thomas University College of Law in 2000 and immediately began putting my passion for the law and people’s rights into practice. Through the years I’ve been able successfully defended serious accusations of Armed Robbery, Armed Trafficking of Marijuana, Trafficking in Controlled Substances, Kidnapping, Sexual Battery, Juvenile Sexual Misconduct, Attempted Murder on a Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing and Eluding, and many more throughout the State of Florida. All of these cases resulted in either no jail time or greatly reduced sentences from what the prosecutor was offering.
Through the years, I’ve continued to refine my approach to criminal defense. Feller Law is not a one-woman show, but employs a team of individuals who contribute their specialized skills and experience. Uncommon to most law firms, I utilize an experienced legal researcher to thoroughly investigate and explore potential defenses, no matter how arcane or unusual. Dedicated support staff provide prompt and informative communications for clients. And I bring my wealth of courtroom experience and tough negotiating to the table.
Nelson Peña is the founder and manager of The Peña Law Firm and Of Counsel to the Feller Law Firm on Personal Injury Cases. He has been a member of the Florida Bar in good standing for 27 years. Nelson has resided in Florida for over 40 years and has a wealth of knowledge of the diverse ethnicities, political forces, medical communities, juror tendencies, judges, and the different court systems that make this region of the country truly unique. He has made it an important part of his practice to incorporate this real-world understanding and fuse it with his legal background as an effective advocate and seasoned litigator for the benefit of our clients.
Currently, Mr. Peña oversees all aspects of our cases in the pre-suit preparation and insurance negotiation stages. This allows him the opportunity to guide your personal injury case towards a successful end from the start of the representation to its conclusion. Mr. Peña is also involved in all our litigation cases on a day-to-day basis. Therefore, if your case does not settle prior to the filing of a lawsuit, Nelson will use his vast litigation experience to devise investigative and legal strategies to obtain the maximum recovery in your personal injury case. Since 1990, Nelson has tried over 150 jury trials, and it’s this lengthy litigation experience that he uses to obtain fair compensation and favorable results for our clients that have been injured through the negligent conduct of another.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” – Martin Luther King
King’s words are a great way to explain my passion and dedication to the law, and more importantly, the individual seeking its aid. An avid scholar since a young age, I’ve continued to those ways in specializing in legal research and writing. It’s a true thrill for me to find that golden case precedent or novel legal analysis to aid Feller Law in bring justice to its clients.
My name is James Harper and I provide legal research and writing for Feller Law, P.A. While I have an intimate knowledge of Florida criminal law, I have done work in many areas of law and well versed in conducting research in any field.
As a college student, working in criminal defense was not my intended goal. I enjoy the great outdoors and have a passion for hiking, watersports, and untamed wilderness. I had planned to pursue a career in environmental law to protect the treasures I so greatly value. That was I wanted to seek justice. But life would take me in a different direction
I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2004 with honors and law school in 2008 cum laude. During law school I worked as a law clerk for the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C. and Chicago. At the EPA, I participated in a case that resulted in the largest financial penalty for violations of the Clean Water Act when a coal company repeatedly polluted Appalachian waters, among other legal research and writing tasks. But a chance encounter with Attorney RoseMarie Feller took me into the area of criminal defense. It was there that I learned that I could assist in bringing justice in a different way; by contributing to the defense of those wrongly accused of crimes with my legal research and writing expertise. It was justice in a different form, but justice all the same.
Over the past several years, I’ve provided legal research and writing for cases that have led to numerous dismissal of criminal charges, removal from the sex offender registry, exoneration of charge upon appeal, significant money judgments for clients, and removal of criminal records from the public view. If there’s a legal avenue to exploit, I’m going to find it.
“Do unto other as you would have them do unto you.” That is the philosophy I live by as an attorney. I represent my clients, in their best interest, with zeal and compassion. I diligently pursue the best, fastest, and most beneficial results for my clients. At Feller Law, we continuously strive to set the standard for criminal defense, family, and personal injury law; knowing all people deserve the best representation they can afford under the law.
I am a native Floridian, having lived here my entire life. This is my home and you are my people. I grew up in Highlands county, Florida, a small agrarian county best known for retirement, orange groves, and endless lakes. I attended the University of Florida for my undergraduate degree in History, and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law in Orlando for my Juris Doctor. I was an Infantryman in the United States Army and have deployed to Iraq in support of this great country. I have competed in Mixed Martial Arts and am currently a brownbelt in Brazilian Jiujitsu. I enjoy instructing people on the knowledge I have acquired in the art and continue the endless journey of perfecting it. My hobbies also involve golf, spending time with family, grilling and smoking ribs, lake days, fishing, riding my Harley, and doing handyman projects around the house.
Please do not hesitate to come to us with your problems. We will help you through them and be your guide through the entire process.
I strive to carry myself with integrity, passion, and respect in life, especially in my current position as a Paralegal. With acute attention to detail, I am sure to act with diligence to support the Attorney’s and Staff of Feller Law.
My name is Brittny Bannister and I was born and raised in Florida but am the daughter of Guyanese immigrants. Growing up in a multi-cultural home facilitated my growing into the well-versed young woman I am today. From an early age, academics have always been an important part of my life. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies with a minor in Political Science. I am now a law student at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law.
While my academic and work life keep me very busy, I enjoy travelling in my spare time. During my undergraduate career, I discovered my love of exploration and decided to organize solo travel trips to backpack in different countries and learn about new cultures. Those expeditions started in Central America where I backpacked throughout Costa Rica, Panama, and Nicaragua. Traveling alone taught me important life skills and values that I intend to carry throughout my life. Immediately after graduating from UCF, I once again left to travel. This time, it was for Southeast Asia and backpacking through Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos.
I believe traveling to and experiencing life in these countries has fueled my passion to give back and help others. Back in the United States, I take what was learned overseas and strive to live my days with integrity, passion, and respect.
